Scripps Spelling Bee
Biography
Hi! I’m Rohan Rajeev, a rising senior from Edmond, Oklahoma.
I have been competing in spelling bees since third grade, and since then I have developed a love for the English language. My spelling bee journey began when I competed in ACSI spelling bees. In seventh grade, I won the national competition that took place in Washington D.C. I registered for the South Asian Spelling Bee soon after winning that bee and qualified for the Finals in New Brunswick, New Jersey, placing seventh there. Last April, I scored thirty-one out of thirty-one points possible in the Senior Spelling category at an NSF chapter in Tulsa, qualifying me for the Finals in Houston, Texas. My school registered for Scripps during my eighth grade year, and winning my regional bee qualified me for the prestigious Scripps National Spelling Bee in National Harbor, Maryland, where I ended with a strong second place finish.
I was very meticulous and thorough in my years of studying for the spelling bee. I can provide invaluable insight on language patterns, roots, and various other aspects of spelling that will produce success at any level of competition. My knowledge of vocabulary will also prove to be especially helpful in the preliminary rounds of the Scripps National Spelling Bee. In addition, I know a lot about the bee itself and how it works so that the speller can be prepared for what it has in store.
My devotion to spelling and to the success of the speller is sincere, and I will work my very hardest to prepare him or her for any level of spelling competition to the best of my ability.
